2nd Annual Blueberry Family Festival


On Saturday, September 11th the Keene First Baptist Church on Maple Ave is celebrating its 2nd annual Blueberry Family Festival from 10-4. There will be games for all ages and chances to win prizes. There will also be lost of fantastic festival food. All proceeds benefit the Church's Ministry and Mission trips. For more information contact the church at 603 352-0340.

25th Annual Craft Fair in Dublin


The 25th annual Dublin Craft Fair will be held on Saturday, September 11th from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Admission is free and the event will be held at Yankee Field on Route 101 in Dublin. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the sales area, but take Monument Road to get to the parking entry. The ConVal Hockey Boosters will be running a refreshments booth as a fund raising project. There will be many different treasure for sale, so come join!

Annual KPRD Big Wheel Race


The Annual Big Wheel Race through Keene Parks and Rec Department is scheduled on Tuesday, September 7th, at 5pm. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded. There is FREE registration at the Recreation Center for ages 3 to 8. A Big Wheel is available for those who need one.

Jim Leonard Benefit


On Saturday September 18th there will be a benefit dinner, dance and raffle at the Bellows Falls Moose Family Center, for Jim Leonard, who needs an Insulin Pump. CATCH After School Program


The CATCH After School Program will be held everday after school at the Recreation Center from the first day of school to the last. Children will focus on physical activity and nutrition awareness, all while having fun. There is help with home work, healthy snacks, activities, and lots of fun games. The program will run from 3-5:30 Monday through Friday on school days. The game room will be open during school vacation weeks and holidays.

Fall Youth Recreation Soccer


If you love soccer, and want to be a part of the action here's what's happening for Fall 2010 with the Keene Parks and Rec Department's Youth Intramural Soccer programs: Teams will be broken down by grades into three divisions, K-1, 2-3, 4-6. The cost is $35 for Keene residents, and $50 for out of town players. Registration ends September 9th.

Chuck Turcotte Memorial Benefit


Please come join us for a benefit even to raise money for the four Turcotte Children. There will be live entertainment, with the feature band Bening Tunez. There will be a pig roast, chinese auction and many activities for kids. Feel free to bring a dish in a disposible container, and your own beverages. Alcohol will be allowed! The benefit will run from 1pm to 6pm on Septmember 18th at the Keene Elks Camp rain or shine. A $10 donation is requested but not required for anyone under 12.

At Applebee's on Saturday, October 2nd from 8am to 10am there will be a Pancake Breakfast to benefit Melissa Diven who is battling breast cancer. There will also be a local merchants raffle that morning.

Celebrity Waiter Dinner "Going to the Hounds"


 Fast Friends presents "Going to the Hounds" Celebrity Waiter Dinner, from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday September 25th. There will be cocktails at a cash bar, dinner, entertainment and a silent atuction. Advanced ticket price is $60. This event will be held at the Herberton Hall at 76 Winter Street in Keene.

Story Time at the Troy Library


Starting September 8th there will be a 20-30 minute storytime for ages 4 and older. Children will need an adult present to attend. Story time will start at 4:15 on every wednesday.

Free to Breath 5k Run/Walk


Register today for the Chelmsford Free To Breath 5k Run/Walk to help raise public awareness and research funding to fight lung cancer. The walk will be held at Chelmsford High School in North Chelmsford Mass, on September 26, 2010 and begins at 8:30 am. Windham County 10th Annual Walk for Animals


The Windham County Humane Society will be holding its 10th Annual Walk for Animals on Saturday, September 25th (rain date Oct 2nd) at the Grafton Village Cheese Company for an 11:00 a.m. walk down Main Street in Brattleboro ( walkers raise thousands of dollars through pledge donations from friends and family).

Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings


The Kingsbury Cancer Pavilion in Keene will be offering Free Breast & Cervical Cancer Screenings for low income women, ages 18-65 with inadequate health insurance or a high deductible.

Women covered by Medicare or Medicaid are NOT eligible. Examinations will be performed by female health professionals-- and reduced rate mammograms are available to qualified women.

Cancer Loss Support Group


If you have lost or are losing a loved one to Cancer, Joys Network would like to let you know of a grief discussion group, being held on the first Wednesday of every month from 6 to 7:30pm at the offices of Bragdon & Berkson, located at 82 Court Street in Keene.

Please come and share your story and connect with others whom have also walked in your shoes.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 5th.
