November 28, 2014 - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm at Mayfair Farm
31 Clymers Drive
Shoppers at Mayfair’s on-farm store will find an abundance of gift ideas—and free hot samples of handcrafted foods. The freezers will be stocked with Mayfair’s own gourmet sausages (made by farmer Craig Thompson in the farm’s commercial kitchen) along with their GMO-free pork, beef and lamb, plus raw Jersey milk. It’s an especially good time to pick a leg of lamb or prime rib roast, as quantities are limited.
Holiday hosts will find a wide selection of prepared foods made on-site with the highest quality ingredients, including hors d’oeuvres, quiches, soups, sides, and desserts. Such staples as granola, coffee, tea, jams and jellies and maple syrup are available too.
As Mayfair Farm also caters handcrafted, locally-sourced food, co-owner Sarah Heffron will be on hand to share food samples and discuss holiday party catering needs, from full service events to casual gatherings.
In addition to the farm bounty, several vendors of local crafts and goods will be offering their wares. Christmas trees and wreaths will be for sale, and shoppers can warm up with hot cider and hot chocolate topped with heavenly house-made marshmallows, too.
Plaid Friday is a fun and enjoyable alternative to the usual “Black Friday.” It’s a way to show support for Monadnock Buy Local, a network of locally-owned businesses, organizations and citizens working to build a stronger local economy.
