Help the Homeless Animals with Shoes!

Bring your gently worn used (or new) shoes to Monadnock Humane Society to join our Shoes for Our Shelter Drive. Collect shoes from your friends and neighbors, and bring them too! Monadnock Humane Society will receive money for every pair of shoes we collect between now and May 16th.

The Destination Imagination Team from the Cutler School in Swanzey is going to the Global Finals 2016, happening May 25th-28th in Knoxville, TN…and they need your help to get there!

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk- Peterborough

You can help finish the fight against breast cancer by raising funds for and walking with American Cancer Society Making Strides of Peterborough. Join more than one million people each year who are helping to end breast cancer on Sunday, October 23rd. Registration starts at 8:30am, and the walk kicks off at 10:30am at Depot Square in Peterborough.

Grand Heroes- Weekly meeting for those raising their grandchildren

The Keene Senior Center program “Grand Heroes” is for grandparents raising grandchildren for any number of reasons.  There are weekly, Wednesday meetings at 5:30pm at the Senior Center on 70 Court St.   It will be a free, confidential, supportive, and sharing group to help raise kids, the second time around, a role that is both joyful and difficult, and an undertaking that no one planned on.

GIFTS Open Community Presentation

GIFTS (Boys and Girls Initiating Future Thinking in Science) was founded and developed over the past year and recently ran its first pilot program at Symonds Elementary School as an after school club for grades 3-5. The children have been working to raise awareness, gain knowledge and experiment with hands on participation in STEM fields regarding climate change solutions through promotion of math and science.

The public is welcome to join them on Wednesday May 4th from 4-5pm at Symonds School library for an open community presentation where the members will share their youth driven ideas/activities for climate change solutions in our community.
