Either 1 or 2 people walk to the side of the rider during class. The side walker’s primary responsibility is for the safety of the student during class.

Horse Handler-
The primary responsibility of the horse handler is to deal with the horse.

Scottish Festival

Saturday, August 23rd is the day for the 42nd annual Scottish Festival at Quechee (kwee chee) Vermont from 8 to 4:30pm.

Pipe Bands, Sheepdog trials, several athletic events, Scottish Balladeers, as well as plenty of amazing food like meat pies, haggis, fish & chips, scones, tea and much more.

Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for children 5-12, and children under 5 are free.

Community Kitchen Yard Sale

The Community Kitchen will hold a yard sale at their 37 Mechanic Street location on Saturday, August 23rd from 9:00-1:00.  Come and shop in air conditioned comfort.  They will have a huge assortment of holiday decorations and accessories along with lots of other miscellaneous items.  All proceeds will benefit The Community Kitchen programs.  No early birds, please.

Tables are available to rent for $10.00 each on a first come first served basis.

Baked Bean Supper

August 23, 2014 - 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm at Westport church

The Westport Church on Westport Village Road in Swanzey will be having a Family Style Baked Beans and Franks Supper along with homemade potato salad, cole slaw and pies on Saturday, August 23rd from 5 to 6:15pm.

Adults are just $8,. children 10 and under, $3.


Back to School Ice Cream Social and Community Ball Game

August 24, 2014 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Troy Elementary School

Bring a picnic & enjoy the community ball game before the ice cream social.

At 6 pm ice cream will be for sale at $1 a cone or dish.

All proceeds from ice cream sale will help to fund the 2015 Bicentennial Celebration.
