KEENE, NH – A deal between Cheshire County and DiLuzio Ambulance for the county to purchase the services’ assets has been called off.
According to a news release from County Administrator Chris Coates, the plan is no longer moving forward because “despite significant effort by everyone involved, the transaction presented obstacles which we could not resolve.”
The county is however moving forward with pursing its long-term goal of providing ambulance services, and work to construct a new building at 53 Monadnock Highway, which the county recently purchased to house ambulance services will continue.
“Cheshire County’s goal is to develop an EMS service that is reliable and evolving to meet the ever-changing needs of those we will be serving,” Coates said.
Coates said the County would hire and recruit new staff for cover the 24/7 EMS operation, which is expected to be up and running in the fall with the arrival of new vehicles.
