KEENE, NH – Results of the City of Keene’s first FlashVote survey are in.

Last Wednesday the city sent out its first survey. It featured a few questions regarding the Robin Hood Park renovation as the Parks and Recreation Department continues to work on the planning stages of that project.

One of the questions asked survey-takers what improvements are most important to them personally. The top answers included renovating the bathrooms, upgrading the pool, upgrading the playground equipment, and adding more covered seating/eating areas.

As for how much time and money the city invests in the project, the community seemed to be split on that, but a small majority voted in favor of just a few improvements to the tune of about $1.5 million. The need for some bigger improvements came in just behind that for about $3.9 million.

Some additional comments included the need to keep the cost down as much as possible, keeping the long-term health of the park in mind, maintaining the pool, and making it accessible for all users.

The survey drew 273 responses. The city will periodically send out short survey’s via FlashVote on various topics. Communications Director Rebecca Landry said the program will allow the city to gather more scientific data, and allow residents who can’t make it to meetings and other events to voice their opinions a chance to provide their feedback.
