KEENE, NH – The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has announced the location of its newest NH Liquor and Wine Outlet.

In a news release Thursday morning the commission announced that the new outlet will go in next to Market Basket near the Keene/Swanzey town line at 11 West Swanzey Road, the former Sears location. It’ll be a consolidation of the existing outlet on Ash Brook Road in Keene and previous outlets in Swanzey and Winchester.

The outlet will be adjacent to Market Basket, which the commission said is one of the top selling Market Basket stores in the state, bringing in customers from New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

The new location is 20,000 square feet, twice the size of the location on Ash Brook Road, will provide ample parking, and allow for dedicated sections devoted to premium and ultra-premium spirits and high-end wine, LED lighting, and spacious aisles.

“We are pleased to announce plans to increase and improve our presence in Cheshire County and specifically the communities of Keene and Swanzey,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica. “With more than double the square footage of our previous locations combined, our customers from around New Hampshire and New England will have the opportunity to enjoy the largest selection of name-brand wines and spirits at great prices and no taxes.”

The move closer to a Market Basket store isn’t a new one for the NHLC, as John Matthews, Principal, DSM Realty, Market Basket’s real estate division, says they’ve had a partnership for quite some time.

“Market Basket is excited to expand its longstanding and synergistic relationship with the New Hampshire Liquor Commission at this new location in Keene/Swanzey,” Matthews said. “During the past several years, Market Basket has partnered with NH Liquor & Wine Outlets’ strategic development plans at our shopping centers in Tilton and Warner, Claremont, Rindge and Londonderry. Market Basket and NH Liquor & Wine Outlets are a perfect match – delivering value to the customer every day.”

The new location is expected to open in the Fall of 2024.
