KEENE, NH- The New Hampshire Board of Education has tabled the vote on an application to bring PragerU into the school curriculum.

According to their website, PragerU is a conservative nonprofit that is “focused on changing minds through the creative use of digital media.” It creates content promoting conservative viewpoints on political, economic, and sociological topics. It is not an accredited University or academic institution.

If the board approves Education Commissioner Frank Edelblut’s recommendation and it is `brought into the NH school curriculum, as it was in Florida, students could go online to take a financial literacy course for high school credit as part of the state’s Learn Everywhere program.

PragerU was founded by conservative talk show host Dennis Prager in 2009. New Hampshire House of Representatives minority leader Matt Wilhelm said in an interview with WKBK Thursday morning that it rose to prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic when students were remote learning. It has come under fire recently for what Wilhelm and others feel is misleading views on topics such as climate change, slavery and racism, and immigration.

The vote was tabled at the State Board of Education meeting on Thursday, as Board Chairman Drew Cline says he wants more information on how PragerU will separate political content.
