KEENE, N.H-Veteran broadcaster Sean Hall has passed away following a motor vehicle accident.
Saturday afternoon Richmond Police, Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Old Homestead Highway by Mill Road and discovered two vehicles had been involved in a head-on collision.
Police say their initial investigation revealed that a Teal GMC Pickup driven by Dana Goodell, 48, of Richmond, was headed north along Old Homestead Highway near Mill Road when a Blue Toyota sedan headed south driven by Hall apparently attempted to make a turn onto Mill Road and crossed the center line and hit the pickup head-on.
According to authorities Hall was pinned inside his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, while Goodell only suffered minor injuries.
Sean, who at the age of 63 was semi-retired and was known locally as the weekend news reporter on WKBK and had been with the station since 2013. Prior to arriving in Keene, Sean had spent nearly 50 years as a broadcast journalist and worked at NBC Radio, Mutual Broadcasting System, CNNRadio and WTOP in Washington DC.
Following Sean’s passing WKBK’s Brand Manager Dan Mitchell issued the following statement:
“Sean was an incredibly talented writer and devoted his entire adult life to radio news. Broadcasting has lost a very good person.”
Not only was Sean an accomplished broadcaster who came from a family of journalists, he was also a professional musician for most of his adult life. And took great pride in being able to make a living off of the two things he truly loved.
