BRATTLEBORO, V.T. (MyKeeneNow) – A child was found safe hundreds of miles from home after a reported kidnapping in Brattleboro.

Monday evening the Brattleboro Police department said they were notified of a kidnapping around 1:10 p.m. that afternoon. According to a news release the legal guardians of the 19-month-old child told police that the biological mother had taken the child without their consent and was possibly heading to New Hampshire.

Brattleboro Police put out an alert and New Hampshire Police Departments were notified and were working together to locate the child.

In a press release late Tuesday morning Police identified the biological mother as Jace Pillsbury, and said they believed she was accompanied by her boyfriend, identified as Romulus Harris.

Pillsbury and Harris were located along with the child, who was unharmed, at approximately 4:00 Tuesday morning in Washington D.C.

There was no Amber Alert issued for the child, and police labeled the incident as “Custodial Interference” in the Tuesday news release.

As of late Tuesday morning, no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not released any further details.
