Keene Riots-Love for KSC

One of the points we tried to make yesterday was that this incident did not involve every KSC student.  While it’s easy to cast a shadow of blame across them all, it certainly is not the case.

Here’s an email we received Monday:

Steve and Teri,

I would like to thank you both for your positive reinforcement to the public this morning, stating that it was not ALL of the Keene State students who were part of the riot that took place this weekend. I am currently a junior at Keene State, who lives off campus and am completely ashamed to be associated with this incident. Like many Keene State students, I would not have know all of this action was taking place on campus if it wasn’t for social media sites, and our Campus Safety sending out a report. Instead of getting involved in all the chaos, I like many other community members entered the festivities at the food court and enjoyed the annual excitement and suspense of the pumpkin count. Not once, even as a Keene State student did I step foot on campus, let alone Winchester St. My point being that I am sure I was not the only college kid that was not involved in the riots, and just like you both stated on air, (and I thank you again) that the students at Keene State should not all be seen as being part of this horrific event.  I almost called in this morning as you asked people to give their opinions, but felt powerless as a student where it all took place.

Thank you again for standing up for the KSC students who did not take place in the riots this weekend!

Alyson

On that note- this piece was released by the Equinox, the KSC media outlet.

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
